Disability Recognition Month 2024

Each year, the university celebrates Disability Recognition Month (DRM).  This year, we’re celebrating between Thursday 14 November and Friday 20 December.

The theme for DRM 2024 follows the national theme of ‘Disability Livelihood and Employment’, highlighting the current and historical opportunities and challenges the disabled community may face when accessing work or in everyday life.

Disability Recognition Month Local Events Programme

The timetable for local events that are taking place locally across the university in celebration of Disability Recognition Month is now available.  The events include talks, workshops and much more.

Launching the Institutional Disability Equality Action Plan

The university endorses the social model of disability and is committed to ensuring disability equality for all staff and students.

As part of this, we are pleased to announce the launch of the university’s first Disability Equality Action Plan for staff and students, which is a key area of strategic priority for the university, ensuring that we deliver on the UoN’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Priorities for 24-25 [PDF, new tab].
