Improving your System Resilience with DevOps
DevOps should not end with the delivery of code by the development team. It includes deployment and monitoring whilst in operation.
In this session we will look at the tools available in the Microsoft platform to aid in this process irrespective of whether systems are to be deployed on-premised or into the cloud.
- The Features of Azure DevOps
- Automated Build and Release
- Automated checking of code quality and known vulnerabilities
- Infrastructure as code
- Provisioning of environments in the cloud as part of the release process
- The use of AppInsights to proactively manage deployed systems for both performance and cost control
Richard Fennell is the Chief Technology Officer at Black Marble Ltd, a Microsoft Gold Partner based in the North of England. Black Marble specialises in DevOps Consultancy and Software Development on Microsoft platforms such as Azure, BizTalk & SharePoint.
As CTO he is responsible for the delivery of systems and tools to allow Black Marble, and their clients, to deliver solutions efficiently. All Black Mable’s development activity is underpinned by Azure DevOps and an agile process model. He is a Microsoft MVP for Development Tools, an ALM Ranger, a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) Richard is a regular presenter at community events in the UK and Ireland (and the rest of the world given a chance) where his most common subject is software testing and the development process.
