Trial access: Archives of Sexuality & Gender – LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940

February is LGBT History Month. To celebrate we’re bringing you trial access to this archive which presents important aspects of LGBTQ life in the second half of the twentieth century and beyond.

Archives of Sexuality & Gender – LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940

Material in the archive draws from hundreds of institutions and organizations, including both major international activist organizations and local, grassroots groups. In addition to the historical records of political and social organizations founded by LGBTQ individuals, the archive includes gay and lesbian newspapers from more than 35 countries, reports, policy statements, and other documents related to gay rights and health, including the worldwide impact of AIDS, materials tracing LGBTQ activism in Britain from 1950 through 1980, and much more. Documents span from 1940 to 2014, with the bulk from 1950 to 1990.

We’d love to know what you think. Please send your feedback to collections@nottingham.ac.uk

There are lots of events planned at the University this LGBT History Month. Find out more.
