Engage – your new active learning platform
Earlier this year, we announced we were upgrading our Lecture Capture service, Echo360 and we invited you to choose a new name. We’re delighted to confirm that ‘Engage’, your new active learning platform is now operational in all UK teaching rooms.
Congratulations to Dimitrios Potsos (pictured on the right) on winning the name competition.
Via Engage you can continue to watch recordings of teaching sessions at a time, place and pace that works for you and record your notes for future review. Over 3556 captures have already been recorded since the start of the new academic session.
Get started with Engage now!
To access Engage resources for a course (Module), click on the Engage link on your course/module page on Moodle – see example below:
• Engage videos (Click this link to register on Engage)
Once you’ve clicked on a link in Moodle for every course/module you’re enrolled on, you will then be able to access Engage via the mobile app (Apple App Store or Google Play) or by direct access entering your University email address ‘username@nottingham.ac.uk’ (UG/PGT) or ‘firstname.lastname@nottingham.ac.uk’ (PGR/Staff).
New features and functionality
Engage features a range of new interactive engagement tools, including integrated polls, quizzes, text responses and learners can also create and add content. We’ll be exploring more of these unique features throughout the academic year. For a full overview of the new system, see our Moodle Guide ‘Introduction to Engage for students’.
Message from Sarah Speight
We will use the academic year 2018-19 to gather feedback regarding the use of Engage by both staff and students.
We have purchased the Engage system because we think it can best deliver what you and our lecturers have told us you need and want.
We hope that you will enjoy exploring it and seeing how it can support both learners and teachers. Additional information regarding Engage can be found on the IT Services website.
