High Performance Computing – new website presence
Information Services have recently re-vamped our website presence for High Performance Computing (HPC) to better promote the range of specialist services available for researchers and academic staff.
What High Performing Computing facilities are available to use?
Our new website pages outline the local, regional and national HPC facilities that are available to allow University of Nottingham researchers the means to quickly perform large-scale calculations and analysis.
- University of Nottingham HPC – Minerva is an on-site HPC that is available to any research student or member of academic staff, from any School or Faculty, who has the need for compute resource substantially greater than a standard PC – find out how to access here
- HPC Midlands Plus – the University of Nottingham is part of a consortia of universities that have been awarded funding from the EPSRC to provide a regional ‘Tier 2’ HPC centre. The facility is physically located at the University of Loughborough – find out how to access here
- Regional and National facilities – These website pages include information on regional and national HPC facilities, including access and eligibility criteria – find out more here
- Supporting Services – As part of the HPC Midlands Plus project, each of the partner institutions is providing 0.5 FTE of a Research Software Engineer to support researchers taking advantage of the new facility – find out more about how this service can be accessed at Nottingham here
