University Phishing attacks

Information Services is aware that UK Universities are currently receiving multiple phishing email attacks and as such users are advised to be vigilant against such attempts to gain details.

These emails normally ask you to follow a web link and/or ask for bank account details or personal credentials.

Such emails are coming in from spoofed accounts including:

• UPS
• DHL
• O2
• Vodafone
• Natwest
• Some are coming from user’s spoofed accounts within the University. Subject ‘invoice from …….’
• Phishing email suggesting to be from ‘NOTTINGHAM jobs’ regarding Part Time Book Keeper/Funds Processor Needed

If you are not expecting any invoices or parcel delivery etc, please DO NOT respond to the email. DO NOT click on any web links and please send the email to the IT Service Desk: itservicedesk@nottingham.ac.uk
