New contract agreed with Xerox for UoN Print Service
Information Services are delighted to announce that an enhanced two year contract for the UoN Print Service has been agreed with our service provider, Xerox.
Xerox have provided a managed serivce for staff and student printing at the University of Nottingham over the last five years. The new contract that has been negotiated will offer savings to the University of up to £200k annually, including a refresh of 130 devices and improvements to the infrastructure supporting the service.
Reduction in price of staff printing
The first benefit of the new contract that will be immediately implemented will be a reduction in the cost of staff printing (mono and colour). The price for single sheet mono printing will reduce from 3p a sheet to 2.58p per sheet, with colour printing reducing from 10.51p per sheet to 6.92p per sheet. A full list of price changes will be shared with Print Champions in due course. These changes are in place now to ensure that Schools and Departments immediately benefit from price reductions.
Refresh of staff Print Devices
Starting this month, we will also be working with Xerox to implement a service improvement plan to replace approximately 100 older staff print devices with newer Xerox machines. The new machines will be deployed between April – June at academic schools on Jubilee Campus, University Park Campus, QMC, libraries (George Green), Kings Meadow Campus, Tower building and the Veterinary School.
IS Service Manager, Sam Passingham, who works closely with Xerox to manage the UoN Print Service commented, ‘we are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Xerox for a further 2 years. The supplier relationship has strengthened during this period as we continue to work in partnership to secure the best financial model for the University. The enhanced contract brings real, immediate benefits for the staff print service and we hope to repeat the exercise later this year for student print costs’.
