Nick Hern Books Modern Plays #theatre #lovey!

Working with the School of English, the library recently bought this groundbreaking collection of almost 400 titles from specialist theatre publisher, Nick Hern Books.

The collection of plays, screenplays and theatre books features important works from Jez Butterworth, Caryl Churchill, David Edgar, Helen Edmundson, Liz Lochhead, Conor McPherson, Rona Munro, Enda Walsh and Nicholas Wright.

……and now you can! Budding thespians out there will also be pleased to hear that Nick Hern Books also license most of their plays for amateur performance.

Nick Hern Books Modern Plays is available on the Drama Online platform. Here you can also access over 1,500 play texts published by Bloomsbury and Faber, covering the most widely-studied plays from antiquity, the Early Modern period, and the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries. We’ve also recently purchased the Globe on Screen film collection.
