Five Activities on Jubilee Campus to Help You Start Thinking About Your Career
By Kathryn Moss, Employability Officer
Did you know that careers events, advice and information are all available on Jubilee Campus too? If you live close by, study at Jubilee or just fancy a change of scenery, you have access to a fantastic offering.
Here are five activities happening this term:
1. Come to the Jubilee Opportunities Fair
If you are wondering how you can get involved and add some skills to your CV, attend the Jubilee Opportunities Fair on Thursday 4 October. You’ll find out lots of ways to make the most of your time at university. From joining a sports team with the SU to getting part-time work through Unitemps, it’s your introduction to all the amazing opportunities at Nottingham.
2. Speak to employers at our careers fairs
Did you know that one of our largest careers fairs happens on Jubilee Campus? The Management, Consulting and Finance Fair is on Wednesday 17 October and is open to any student.
There are thousands of opportunities, including internships, placements and graduate roles. Take a look at our fair page to find out more, including which employers are coming.
3. Attend our skills workshops
We have something for every step of your career journey. If you’re not sure where to start with your job search or you need a hand getting prepped for an interview, we have a workshop for you. We even have workshops hosted by top graduate recruiters.
Check out our schedule to find out when and where they are happening, and come and brush up on your skills.
4. Get your CV reviewed
Don’t want to wait for an appointment to speak to someone? Did you know that we have drop-in sessions at Jubilee Campus? Drop-ins are a great way for you to get your career questions answered or get your CV reviewed. You do not need to book, just turn up.
Find us in the Exchange Building – opposite Student Services – during teaching weeks:
- Tuesdays: 1-2pm
- Wednesdays: 11am-12pm
- Thursdays: 1-2pm
If you are a Nottingham University Business School postgraduate student on an MBA, MSc or PhD programme then the Postgraduate Careers team, based in A72 Business School North, will be able to help you.
5. Take part in the Nottingham Consultancy Challenge
If you fancy being a part of a University-wide consultancy challenge, the Nottingham Consultancy Challenge might be for you. It’s open to any student who wants to get some hands-on experience in the world of work.
We have partnered with some fantastic charities and businesses to find exciting business problems for you to work on as part of a team. Not only will you develop and learn new skills, but taking part can count towards the Nottingham Advantage Award too! Find out how to apply.
Have a particular query you need answering? Maybe you have a job interview coming up or you’ve just spotted a role you’d really like to apply for? You can book one-to-one appointments, online through My Career.
