My passion for business and setting up FaceFlavour

 I’ve always been passionate about business, with a particular fondness for the marketing aspects.

My ultimate aspiration is to launch and run a successful food business. This passion, combined with my desire to make a tangible impact, led me to explore opportunities that could help me achieve my goals.

The Witty Entrepreneurial Scholarship is an initiative designed for students who are keen on entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation. It also supports those interested in social enterprises, helping to provide a distinctive edge in the competitive job market.

The programme leverages the rich resources available at the University of Nottingham, offering a unique membership scheme at the Ingenuity Lab on the Jubilee Campus. The programme provides students with access to experienced mentors across various fields and tailored workshops to help refine and achieve their career ambitions.

The Witty Entrepreneurial Scholarship

When I first learnt about the Witty Entrepreneurial Scholarship, I was immediately intrigued. However, I felt hesitant about applying, as I doubted my chances of being selected.

Despite these doubts, I took the leap and applied. To my surprise and delight, I was accepted into the programme. Even more exciting was the opportunity to undertake a placement within my own business this year, which felt like a dream come true.

The programme has been a transformative experience, providing me with numerous opportunities to prove myself and, more importantly, to build confidence.

Through the scholarship, I have been able to network extensively and engage in one-to-one meetings with industry experts like Janet Wallace. Her guidance was invaluable as I refined my business plans.

Moreover, the scholarship facilitated investment into my food catering business, FaceFlavour, giving me the financial boost I needed to turn my ideas into reality.

One of the most valuable lessons I learnt through this experience is that no aspiration is too out of reach, regardless of one’s background, ethnicity, or financial situation.

The programme demonstrated that passion and dedication can overcome any obstacle. The hands-on experience, mentorship, and financial support provided by the Witty Scholarship have been instrumental in developing my business acumen and boosting my confidence as an entrepreneur.

Witty Placement Programme

As I look to the future, this coming September marks an exciting milestone. I will be one of the first participants in the Witty Placement Programme, allowing me to focus fully on FaceFlavour. With the continued support of the Ingenuity Lab and its mentors, I am eager to transform my business from a budding idea into a fully realised enterprise. The journey ahead is both thrilling and challenging, but I am ready to embrace every opportunity that comes my way.

Life-changing experience

For any student eligible for this scholarship, I cannot recommend applying highly enough. The experience has been nothing short of life-changing for me, and it has the potential to be just as impactful for others. The opportunities for personal growth, professional networking, and practical experience are unparalleled.
