National Limerick Day: Who Wins, You Decide
Now we don’t usually blog on a Thursday, but as it’s National Limerick Day, we’re making an exception. We’ve been taking part in what’s been a closely fought office challenge, with the team battling it out to be named ‘Careers Champion of Limericks.’
So, who’s our secret Wordsworth? Who could do three rounds with Eminem?
You decide! You can either comment below or cast your vote on Facebook or Twitter. We will collate the results and announce a winner tomorrow.
Up first, we have an aspirational adage from our very own Director of Careers and Employability – with a little help from her co-author, Marc Lintern, Director at Newcastle University.
Vote ‘1’ for Nalayani!
Next up, from Sutton Bonington campus, is Gemma Foxall who’s waxing lyrical about careers in IT.
Vote ‘2’ for Gemma!
Enter Chris Jones, who reminds us that the Graduate Jobs Fair could change your life.
Vote ‘3’ for Chris!
Wondering what’s there? Anna knows it’s not just about meeting employers.
Vote ‘4’ for Anna!
And last, but certainly not least, come and say hello to Matthew, our newest Careers recruit.
Vote ‘5’ for Matthew!
A big thank you to everyone who took part, and as Matthew says, we’re all really nice! So, if you’d like some tailored advice on your CV, career ideas, or how to start applying for jobs, you can book an appointment on My Career now.
Ooh I think they all deserve a vote! I simultaneously groaned and laughed at all of them, which is a good sign for a limerick!
However I think rhyming “improvement” with “prudent” was a stroke of poetic license genius so my vote goes to Chris!
I vote for number 3
They are all brilliant – we have some very talented people in Careers. I’m voting 1 for Nalayini and Marc.
5!
I Vote 3!!
5
Number 5!
