Hello international students!
By Marta Vizcaya Echano, International e-Information Officer
These first weeks are bound to be both exciting and intense as you meet tutors and fellow students while immersing yourself in a new place and culture. There probably won’t be much spare time to think about your future, but the earlier you focus on your career interests the more secure it will be.
Get to know us
We offer free, impartial support to help you achieve your goals, whether you are considering your options or already have clear plans.
Our website offers comprehensive careers information, enables you to book careers appointments and gives you access to a full programme of events including fairs, employer presentations and skills workshops. It also provides information on part-time jobs, work experience, graduate opportunities and further study.
While we can’t match students with vacancies or make direct introductions to recruiters, we can help you with your job search as well as with applications and interviews. We have faculty-based Careers teams to provide advice and activities directly relevant to you. Together with this you can gain new skills and industry insight by joining the Nottingham Advantage Award with over 150 modules to choose from that will enhance you career prospects.
Our international students’ section offers detailed information on working in the UK during and after your studies as well as resources on working and studying abroad. For advice on immigration, visa issues and UK-related questions you can contact the International Office but we can refer you to useful sources of information on getting a visa in other countries.
Great to meet many of you in today’s Careers talks – feel free to let us know what was most useful and what you would have liked to hear more about.
