Connected Everything and Smart Products Beacon Summer School 2020

Connected Everything and the Smart Products Beacon (University of Nottingham) are jointly running an online Summer School on 15-17 July 2020 focused on the use of collaborative robots (COBOTs) in a COVID-19 world. The summer school will be delivered online and there will be no charge to participants as our funding from EPSRC will cover the costs.

The challenges we particularly want to focus on are:

  • COBOTS for food production (farm and factory)
  • COBOTS for healthcare
  • COBOTS for help around the home

The summer school will have a maximum 25 PhD students / recent graduates from around the UK. Sessions will relate to some of the important aspects of COBOTS (safety, training, interaction, ethics).

Students on the summer school will be split into teams and will generate a design for a new COBOT to address one of the three challenges above.

If you would like to apply for a place at the summer school, please complete this form
