On trial: Cold War Eastern Europe

We are pleased to bring you trial access to Cold War Eastern Europe.

Ranging from 1953 – 1982, Cold War Eastern Europe provides access to over 16,000 files from the political departments of the U.K. Foreign Office responsible for reporting on the Soviet Union and the socialist states of Eastern Europe.

Sourced from the National Archives and expertly curated, this is an invaluable resource for researching Eastern Europe – and UK attitudes towards the region – during the second half of the twentieth century. The Foreign Office were interested in almost every aspect of life behind the Iron Curtain: these documents reflect that wide interest and bring the subject to life, from an angle not often considered.

The trial runs until Friday 14th May. Do please send any feedback to collections@nottingham.ac.uk.
