5 ways to keep your New Year’s Resolutions with UoN Sport

We know how difficult it is to complete your new year’s resolutions, especially when exams come straight after the festive period! UoN Sport would like to help you make 2019 the best year yet!

  1. Be inspired

If your New Year’s resolution is to keep fit or increae your weekly activity, don’t rely on the same playlist to keep you motivated! In 2019, we will be hosting a number of large scale events showcasing top class sport… BUCS Big Wednesday, British National Squash Championships, The Headliner Series and Premier Squash League to name a few!

Keep an eye out on our social media channels for all events @UoNSport

  1. Accept a new challenge

Are you wanting to try something new this New Year?  That could be trying a group exercise class you’ve never done before or trying a new sport with our engage programme. If you don’t enjoy the session there’s not commitment required so you can even try something new the next week.

Both the group exercise and the engage programme is included in the Sport and Fitness membership.

  1. Develop your leadership Skills

The University of Nottingham Sport Leadership Academy offers a range of programmes, training and qualifications that allows our students to develop leadership skills through sport.

This year we have a number of exciting opportunities to work at live sport events, including BUCS Big Wednesday! Getting involved with these events will increase your skills set that you can take into future employment as well as providing you some great experiences to tell your friends and family about!

See a list of all the opportunities available here.

  1. Keep Fit

Our recent Sport and Fitness membership price drop has made it the best time to purchase to have your gym within walking, or jogging (if you are super keen), distance from your accommodation.

Our Sport and Fitness membership includes, three state-of-the art fitness suites if you like to change your training up. It also included free fitness inductions and programme reviews, therefore if you are new to exercise you or your goals have changed can get expert advice!

Our sport and fitness memberships have so much more on offer, find out more about the membership here.

  1. Learn about your diet and nutrition

As part of our NewU campaign we are running useful workshops perfect for building confidence, boosting your wellbeing and keeping a healthy balance.

If your New Year’s resolution was to eat healthier and you are running out of recipes ideas or have found yourself struggling, head to our one of our nutrition workshops this February to learn more about how to make healthy eating sustainable!

All of our workshop sessions are completely free but you will need to book by emailing our engage team.

Happy New Year from all of us at UoN Sport!
