The Headliner | Final Thoughts
We are less than 24 hours till the first centre pass of The Headliner where the University of Nottingham Netball 1st Team will compete against our varsity rivals Nottingham Trent 1stteam, in a competitive BUCS league fixture as both teams compete for top of the league and a promotion into the premier league.
Spectators are getting excited, giving support to our #GreenandGold girls on twitter…. But how are the players and coaches feeling? – We caught up with them to find out:
Head Coach, Fiona Madeley, said,
“As we have a few new players this year, we have been working hard at getting the playing combinations right and giving ourselves the confidence to make changes knowing it won’t unsettle us but hoping it might do the reverse to the opposition! The girls have been working very hard on both defensive and attacking centre passes. There is a lot of ‘netball brain’ on court and I’m excited to see what Wednesday and the rest of the season has in store”.
Captain, Becky Deo is also looking forward to the challenge and commented,
“We are all very excited for tomorrows match, it’s always tough and competitive when we play Trent and since both teams have gained exciting players this season we are expecting another tight game. We have been working hard in the run up, on our fitness, unit work and our through court play, so hopefully it comes together and our hard work shows on court on Wednesday”.
