2015 BUCS Gymnastics Championships

At this year’s BUCS Gymnastics Championships held at Aldershot on the 14th – 15th February 2015, UoN had a fantastic weekend. The Women’s team achieved their highest ever finish, only losing out to Loughborough, Leeds Beckett (Carnegie) and University of Leeds to come fourth. The Men’s team also excelled, maintaining their tradition of podium finishes by winning the Team Bronze medal (with Loughborough and Birmingham coming in first and second, respectively).

Women’s Team Captain, Savannah Lawrence, won bronze medals on both the floor and on the a-bars at level 2. Jordan Daley, the Men’s Team Captain, won bronze for his floor routine, also at level 2.

However, it wasn’t all good news: unfortunately, Emily Cook dislocated her knee. Despite being attended to by medics at the scene, UoN Gymnastics president Matt Dawson fears that she may be out for a few weeks.
