Hugo Swire Interview on BFM

Hugo Swire (Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office) recently visited the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, where he drove a student built car (see pictures!).

Dato’ Seri Haji Idris Jusoh, the Education and Higher Learning Minister II, and Her Excellency Vicki Treadell (British High Commissioner to Malaysia) also joined the visit.

Hugo Swire mentions his visit to to UNMC, including saying that he found the steering a little hard when driving the car!, as well as talking about the wider topic of education in Malaysia in this BFM radio interview. You can hear about the University of Nottingham starting at around 7:40.

The blurb from BFM says “On his second visit to strengthen relations between our two countries with a focus on education, trade and Islamic finance, Britain’s Minister for Asia also had to engage with his counterpart on less than comfortable issues of concern like the jailing of Federal opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, the Sedition Act and general questions of human rights.
