Who’s Afraid of Peer Review?

Very interesting article in Sciencemag.org, that talks about spoof articles that had been submitted to Open Access articles.

I was particularly interested in this as I had recently heard about an article that had been submitted to an Open Access journal. It was accepted within a week and when the authors asked for the reviewer’s comments (to prepare the camera ready version of teh paper) they were told that it was not their policy to send the author’s the reviews.

The authors (quite rightly in my view) withdrew their paper.
