University Bucket-list: Five new things you must try

How do you know if you’re really making the most of out University ?

My last post covered ways in which you can make the most out of Freshers week. But some of you may be wondering, how do I do as much as I can at University? Well look no further. I’ve compiled a list of 5 new things to try at university so you can really take advantage of your student experience.

1. Try out a new sport

University of Nottingham has a multitude of different sport teams ranging from the traditional football, rugby, netball, to the more obscure like quidditch. Trying a new sport is a fun and easy way to keep healthy, meet new people, and possibly gain a new interest.

2. Spend a day exploring Nottingham

An exciting aspect of going to university is the chance to live in a new city. Nottingham has some great areas to explore with lots to do. follow the link below for a few fun things to do in nottingham. https://blogs.nottingham.ac.uk/studentlife/2018/07/12/things-nottingham-dont-involve-drinking/

3. Join a weird society

University of Nottingham has hundreds of societies available that you can join, some of which are truly weird. So, get involved and try something new. you never know, it could become your new favourite hobby. If you hate it you can forget all about it and never go again, but you might regret not having tried.

4. Meet your neighbours

Living in student accommodation can be odd. You can quite easily get to know your flatmates and fast become friends, but what about those in the flats around you. Student accommodation is a great way to meet and socialise with people who aren’t on your course so try introducing yourself to the flat next door. It’s better than awkwardly passing them on the stairs!

5. Learn a new recipe

Being a student often means cooking for yourself, so there’s no better time to try a new recipe. Think of all the money you can save if you can cook your favourite meals at home instead of ordering them!
