A few first times

On the basis of the saying, “If you don’t have anything good (nice) to say, don’t say anything” last week was a blogless week. Instead I aim to bring you a bumper bonanza blog with another saying as the theme “there’s a first time for everything”. It is not the first time I have missed a blog date but the rest of this blog will be dedicated to a few first times.

It is with great sadness and shame that I announce I have never been to Nando’s before, until today. 29th October 2013. I shall not forget. The chicken, the chips, the corn on the cob. I just had to share this moment with you all. Ashleigh, Jackson, Alastair and Joe you are all immortalised as my first Nando’s companions!

It certainly isn’t the first and it certainly won’t be the last time I mention BioSoc. After electing our new Fresher reps to the committee we went for a meal to celebrate. It was at this meal that another first time occurred. I had a ‘carafe’ of wine, (shared with the beautiful model in the photo). Wine is just better when it comes in the equivalent of a conical flask and reminds me of the haunting days of titration work in Chemistry.

The carafe of wine went down a treat too!

The carafe of wine, as displayed by Campbell, perfectly balanced the mountains of pizza I consumed.

Not but two Mondays ago was 7 Legged the titanic bar crawl that takes over Nottingham for one huge night. Sitting in my chair at 7:30 I received the call to arms.

“We’re a man down, basically I’ve got a ticket so you’re coming out”, said my friend Joe.
“Erm, no I can’t” I replied numbly, frozen by the shock of a spontaneous night out being offered to me.
“Yeah you can” was the answer.

Roughly two hours later I was taking part in my first 7 Legged

To round off the blog and to show that University/being a student isn’t all about drinking I’ve also started playing football a whole 3 TIMES a week. Never have I been so in demand, I even saved my first penalty at 11-a-side level and claimed my first Man of the Match Mars Bar during my first game for NatSci. What a week for firsts!

The high demand of washing is taking its toll on my limited supply of football clothes.
