5 benefits of Swimming Crash Courses at David Ross Sports Village

Swimming is an excellent form of exercise for all ages and abilities. It’s never too late to gain the benefits from swimming and aside from being an enjoyable activity,  swimming burns calories, so helps you lose weight, feel happier and healthier.

At our 25m eight-lane indoor pool at David Ross Sports Village we offer a number of crash courses in swimming aimed at all abilities. The sessions, open to the public, are run by our qualified team in a safe and friendly environment. We have set out the top 5 reasons why crash courses are a great way to take the plunge, build your confidence in the water and get you back into the pool.

  1. Accomplishment

Get up to speed in a comfortable environment with first class coaching and learn to swim over a 5 day period. This allows you to develop your water skills, reinforce your swimming techniques and gain the confidence in order to swim.

The benefits of swimming daily are huge and major improvements can be made by participating on a week intense course. Majority of swimmers find they progress quicker on a week intensive course in comparison to the weekly 30 minute lessons.

  1. Water Safety

Around 400 people drown in the UK every year and thousands more suffer injury, some life changing, through near-drowning experiences. Putting this into context, one person dies every 20 hours in the UK. Drowning is also the third highest cause of accidental death of children in the UK.

Whether an adult or a child, our crash courses for beginners are a great introduction to the water to build confidence and basic water skills ahead of the summer!

  1. Coached by the best

Our instructors are all Level 2 qualified and offer the highest quality of instruction for our participants to support progression

All our instructors participate in regular ongoing training and the Learn to swim programme is stroke technique focused.

  1. Master a stroke

Breaststroke can prove to be the most complex stroke to learn, and for many swimmers can take longer to develop than all the other strokes. Our Breaststroke clinics are designed to work from the basics, pick up on faults and focus on corrections that may be causing your child to struggle with their progression.

  1. Private learning environment

Do you have a specific stroke or water skill you would like to work on? Would you or your child like swimming lessons with an instructor on a 1-2-1 basis? By booking in for a 1-2-1 crash course, we can centre your swimming development on your specific needs.

The benefits of swimming daily are huge and major improvements can be made by participating on a week intense course.

Group and 1-2-1 lessons are available to new and existing customers. Running from Monday – Friday; 1-2-1 crash courses £60 for the week and group lessons are £22.50 for the week.
