RIS, BUCS and Staff Engagement
The Research Information System project is reaching a busy and important point in the very long process of launch. It’s been a difficult project to sponsor as it replaces a number of systems that have been embedded in the Uni for many years. This week I demoed the next functionality (especially for outputs and REF) and will complete 7 workshops across UP, Jubilee, SB, Derby and City Hospital locations for University staff.
I hosted a couple of dinners. The first was the BUCS Big Wednesday Launch at the Senate Chamber on Tuesday evening. Hosting Big Wednesday is a huge task for the University and confirms our standing in UK University Sports. The second dinner was the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce dinner as part of my Civic and Regional role for the University.
I’ve completed the first round of staff engagement meetings with all Schools and will produce a summary for all staff and UEB. This week’s meeting with Psychology was well attended and the School has generated a good action plan. Vocal criticism of the Faculty (my) approach to low morale of staff and PDPR process.
