Lia de Simon tells us how a placement experience helped her to take control during a difficult stage in her postgraduate journey.

Lia did her placement with Success for All a not-for-profit charitable foundation which works with over 130 schools right across the UK and draws upon research first started in the 1970s by psychologists Robert Slavin and Nancy Madden.

The placement role involved researching the current and future market of the host organisation, and formulating a plan/proposal and presenting it to senior management. As well as being a opportunity to learn about market research best practice in a live environment it was also an opportunity to network with a view to future career possibilities.
