Statement on ICCE qualification

In response to a blog on The Guardian website (25th September 2014), regarding the International Certificate of Christian Education (ICCE) qualification:

“It appears that many UK universities accept this qualification. The UK NARIC (National Recognition Information Centre, which works on behalf of the UK government) has advised us and the sector on the equivalency of this qualification to A level; it is also included in the UCAS UK qualifications guidance.

“At the University of Nottingham, we have accepted it in the past for a handful of students on a case-by-case basis, typically referring to the admissions tutor in the school who would look into the curriculum in more detail to see whether it is appropriate for their chosen subject before making a decision.

“We will be reviewing the position, as we do every year, with our list of acceptable qualifications.”
