Grundy Educational Trust (Postgraduate Scholarships)
We recently received this notification (see below).
If you are interested in this you must first check eligibility, using the email address at the end of this post as we have not asked about UNMC. Of course, there might be an option for joint supervision between the two campuses, if you have the right idea/candidate.
Grundy Educational Trust
The Grundy Educational Trust has invited the University of Nottingham to apply for up to five postgraduate student awards, towards the funding of postgraduate degrees in the sciences, for taught or research study.
Eligibility

Applicants must be under 30 years of age.

Your degree must be in a course leading to a career in a technologically or scientifically based discipline in industry, commerce or the professions.

Candidates must be citizens of the UK who are in need of financial assistance, who are unable to obtain adequate tuition and or maintenance awards and where parents are unable to provide adequate financial support.
Individual awards are between £1,500 and £4,500 per annum
- You must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place to study for a higher degree at the University of Nottingham.
The Trust gives the following as some of the factors which influence selectors:

Direct relevance of the course to career prospects.
- The candidate’s motivation – i.e. not merely a fill-in in the absence of a job.
- A strong academic record.
- Candidates will only be considered who have a demonstrable financial need, they must provide precise and accurate financial information in terms of income and expenditure.
- Involvement in non-student activities and in the work-place.

There will be a University selection panel to select the five applications to put forward to the Grundy Educational Trust.
