The first CFBP research forum was held on 3rd June 2014 at the Faculty of Engineering, UNMC. The PhD candidates presented the progress of their research to the PhD supervisors and research members from CFBP. In total 4 PhD candidates presented their projects and they were Gan Shu Hui, Ng Mei Xiang, Tham Thing Chai and Leong Yoon kit. The forum aims to provide a platform for the PhD candidates and research members to discuss the latest development in their works, fundings and potential new R&D activities.
Dr Magdalena Zielinska, from the Department of Systems Engineering at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, had visited CFBP on the 20th January, 2014. A seminar was organized by CFBP and Dr Zielinska presented a paper on “Biosystems modeling for the sustainable production and processing of agri-food products”. Her current research areas include food process engineering, drying and dehydration, mathematical modelling, heat and mass transport phenomena, physical and thermo-diffusive properties of foods, food quality, imaging and spectroscopy, computer Simulation and process Innovations. Potential collaborative studies were discussed during the seminar.
The 3rd International Symposium on Processing of Foods, Vegetables and Fruits will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Teaching Center, University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus from 11th – 13th August 2014.
