Establishment of IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing (GRS) Malaysia Chapter
The establishment of IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing (GRS) Malaysia chapter was one of the main achievements of IEEE Malaysia section in 2012 as informed during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IEEE Malaysia section on 19 Jan 2013. Over 35 IEEE GRS members in Malaysia have joined other chapters for their professional activities for years. Only late 2012, the GRS chapter could be established and teamed up all the members for collaborative education and research activities. On 27 November 2012, the first meeting of GRS chapter was held at UTAR Petaling Jaya campus. Prof Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik agreed to chair the committee in 2013-2014. Dr. Tuong Thuy Vu, School of Geography, UNMC accepted the appointment as Secretary of GRS.
