Ingenuity19 Launch

Ingenuity19 is back for 2019!

Enterprising ideas to transform our future

“Dependent children remains by far the most prevalent reason for ‘priority need’ both in Nottingham and nationally… The average number of people accessing Housing Aid was 75 per day. This has risen by 32% since 2009.  Of those presenting, 31% were first time visitors” Source: Nottingham City Council.

Powering Communities…

How can we enable greater engagement with communities and individuals? How can new or alternative economic structures create sustainable and lasting models of operation?

Powering the future…

How does technology enable interaction? How do we prepare for the emerging role of artificial intelligence, machine learning and the Internet of Things? And how will future societies function with these technologies?

Ingenuity19 is looking for the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators to create scalable social and commercial enterprises that can transform Nottingham, the UK and beyond.

We are looking for students, staff, graduates and early career researchers from across the University of Nottingham to come together and discover problems worth solving, and offer you the tools to create scalable sustainable solutions.

Ingenuity19

“This is your time to make your mark in Nottingham. Whether you have an idea for a social project you want to test in Nottingham, before rolling it out across the country; a business idea that has huge commercial potential; or are researching a quick-to-market idea but no idea of how to get it to market, we want you to get involved.

We have designed the Ingenuity19 programme to enable people from all walks of life to come together and explore how they can shape the future of our communities, economies, and industries.”

– Steven Chapman, Ingenuity Event Director

For the first time, Ingenuity19 will also be open to the city of Nottingham, enabling you to contribute to lasting social and economic impact for the city and its communities.

From February – April 2019, Ingenuity19 will take participants through a series of events designed to help inspire and explore new ideas, develop those ideas into viable business/social enterprise plans, before offering the opportunity to compete for a £150,000+ prize fund.

Applications for Ingenuity19 are now officially open and we want you to bring your new or existing business ideas to the table.
