Welcome to the new Blue-Green Cities blog!

This is the new blog site for the Blue-Green Cities Research Project…testing, testing, testing!

In the past few weeks I (Emily Lawson, researcher at the University of Nottingham) have learn several new skills; how to create a website (using CMS Contensis), how to create a intranet page, and now, how to set up a blog. My technological skills base has thus been very much enhanced. I will be one the many researchers and academics that contribute to this blog over the next few years so keep checking back for new posts and interesting discussion topics, plus insight into the members of the Blue-Green Cities Research Consortium.

The image is of Mount St. Helens, taken from a site that was previously a rubbish tip and now has been cleaned up and is adjacent to a community garden in Portland, Oregon, USA. The Blue-Green Cities team spent a week in Portland at the end of April 2013 to generate a rapport that will be essential throughout this project and the quest for effective interdisciplinary research.
