It’s the first week of Summer Graduation and the University Park Campus is electric and busy with excited graduates and very proud parents, attending awards ceremonies, visiting old haunts and celebrating becoming the Class of 2014.

This week, the University will congratulate students from the following faculties:

  • Department of Civil Engineering
  • School of Veterinary Medicine and Science
  • School of Medicine
  • Department of Architecture and Built Environment,
  • Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering
  • Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering
  • School of Biosciences
  • School of Physics
  • School of Mathematics
  • School of Psychology
  • School of Health Sciences: Nursing only
  • School of Health Sciences: Midwifery and Physiotherapy only
  • School of Life Sciences

The Alumni Relations Team have set up home within the East Midlands Conference Centre and are busy welcoming graduates to the alumni community and answering questions about the many benefits available to Alumni.

We have had the pleasure of hearing a range of interesting stories from students during their time at the University and the plans for the future.  During the ceremony for Department of Architecture and Built Environment, our team met Alumnus and couple, Bob (1985) and Karen Scott (1986), who married at Hugh Stuart Halls and were back on campus to celebrate their daughter Katherine’s graduation.

Our team have also been busy promoting the support available to graduates from the Careers and Employability team who are interested in hearing students’ career plans and offering careers guidance, helping search for vacancies and completing applications!  There is a whole host available to our Class of 2014 – word on campus is that there is also a fabulous keepsake for all graduates who visit the Alumni stand!
