Washington DC Reunion and London Law Reception

Alumni gathered in Washington DC on 17th June for an informal event at Downtown Mio Restaurant, hosted by members of the FUN America board, staff from the University of Nottingham, and our new ambassador for DC, David Miller.

Thirty guests attended, including graduates from 1953-2011 from all Faculties.  The event was a great evening of networking and reminiscing and there is real appetite to do more and grow the network further.  If you would like to be involved, please contact your ambassador, David Miller, European Politics, 2011 at: davidmiller_@hotmail.com or Hannah Curnock, International Alumni Manager for the Americas: Hannah.curnock@notitngham.ac.uk

Look out for our next event in DC which will be hosted by the V-C on 20th November.

On Wednesday 2nd July, University of Nottingham Alum Peter Dawson (Law, 1976) and Partner of Russell-Cooke  hosted a Law Reception at the Bedford Row office, attended by alumni and School of Law graduates spanning from Class of 1969 to 2013, in order to catch up with University colleagues and network with peers within the sector.

The reception held in a quant courtyard, part of a Grade II listed building on the hottest day of the year to date, was the perfect setting for this reunion and networking event.

The event was attended by Head of School of Law, Professor Stephen Bailey; JC Smith Professor of Law, Professor Diane Birch and Professor of English Law, Professor Nigel Gravells who also had the opportunity to meet former students who they once taught.

In attendance, Genevieve Jackson, Head of Alumni Relations said “It was great to meet graduates from across the decades last night at the Law networking event. It was a great atmosphere and many alumni made new connections as well as catching up with their former lecturers form the School of Law. One highlight of the evening was an alumnus seeing his former tutor for the first time in 30 years!”

Don’t forget to keep an eye out on our calendar of events and be the first to hear about which events we have taking place in your area or on campus.  For more information about how to organise an alumni reunion, please contact the Alumni Relations team at: alumni-enquiries@nottingham.ac.uk
