8 December 2016 – what’s the story behind door number eight?

Should we stay or should we go?

Who could forget the BREXIT debate? Over 350 people turned up to hear our experts from Law, Politics and Economics debate the pros and cons of ‘Brexit’ back in April.

Audience members were given a ‘clicker’ at the beginning of the evening so they could vote at intervals throughout the night. After a heated debate, the audience were asked to vote on whether Britain should stay or go. An overwhelming 71% said that Britain should remain in the EU.

Who opened door number 8?

Our thanks to Professor Jonathan Ball for opening door number 8 on our digital advent calendar. Professor Ball is no stranger to the media limelight having become the go to person for comment on Ebola and Zika. He also works closely with the BBC Science team and was the University’s first British Science Media Fellow.
