What to Pack for University

The big question everyone has before moving out for the first time: what do I pack? Before coming to university, I read so many articles and watched so many youtube videos about this exact topic. The truth is that your packing list will be very unique to YOU. You need to consider what are some things that are a part of your daily routine or a big part of your life that you want to bring with you to university. For me, those things were my art supplies and a guitar.

That being said, here’s a list of some basic things that you’ll most likely need at university.

Bedroom

  • Duvet
  • Mattress cover
  • Pillow
  • Bedsheets
  • Laundry basket/bag
  • Laundry detergent (I used an eco egg which I highly recommend!)
  • Medicine (painkillers, cold medicine, vitamins, plasters)

  • Umbrella

  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Highlighters

(*You’ll need very different things depending on your course! Eg. If your course is largely essay-based, you can get away with using your laptop for almost everything. Think about what you’ll personally need!)
