Best Ways to Relax during Quarantine

It’s hard to keep calm and carry on during quarantine. As a third year student with deadlines approaching, it’s easy to feel stressed in the best of circumstances. With the added anxiety from these unprecedented times we find ourselves in, trying to study can seem overwhelming. Each of us has had to dramatically alter the way we socialise, shop, and study in a very short space of time. Because of this, being able to relax and unwind has never been more essential. So if you’re struggling to find ways to relax during quarantine here’s a few ideas that i’ve found helpful.

Drawing and Colouring

Admittedly, I hadn’t picked up a colouring book since primary school, but being unable to go outdoors meant I was searching for new ways to spend my time. Colouring has been surprising relaxing. It allows you to focus on a simple activity and this reduces the thoughts of a restless mind. It can have an almost meditative effect plus you get a pretty picture when you finish.

Watch TV

There’s no better way to relax and take your mind off studying than getting lost in the lives of our on screen favourites. The perfect way to relax during quarantine as you can watch tv often without leaving your room !

Exercise

You may be wondering how can I relax while doing high intensity cardio ? But luckily exercising doesn’t have to be super strenuous to be beneficial. Going for a leisurely walk is a great way to clear your mind and leave you feeling refreshed.

Start Baking

During lockdown i’ve been doing alot of baking as it’s a fun and creative way to get rid of stress. With the added bonus of some delicious comfort food at the end. What’s more relaxing than eating chocolate chip cookies during your study breaks?
