A Fantastic Summer Weekend in Nottingham

To anyone who’s ever said there isn’t anything to do in Nottingham I’m sorry but I am going to have to prove you wrong. Having been in Nottingham for almost 3 years now, I was amazed that I was still able to find somewhere new to explore. And if you know me, you know that there will be some food places involved!

Pay close attention because I think you might want to write the names of some of these places down.

It all begin this weekend when my friend Shirley had somewhat of a “homecoming” in Nottingham. She had previously been at university for a semester on an exchange program.

Naturally to celebrate our reunion we had to catch up over some food. So we started off on Friday evening at Suede Bar.

We ordered two pizzas, the Quatro (four cheese) and Octo (a meat pizza; pictured below).

Octo.

Octo in all its meaty glory.

The pizzas were so good that all that was left by the end of the meal was.. nothing at all!

Wiped clean.

After that we rested up and prepared ourselves for the monster of food coma we were about to have the next day. This was our itinerary (in words):

10:30am – Breakfast at Aubrey’s Traditional Creperie

12:00pm – Coffee & cake at Wired Cafe

13:15pm – Walk around Nottingham from The Park to the Cemetery to The Arboretum

2:45pm – Tea at Thea Caffea

Saying that I thought you would be more interested to visualise our itinerary in pictures!

After that well deserved wondering around we definitely worked up an appetite for some vintage tea at Thea Caffea.

Vintage tea with a side of champagne 😉

That pretty much sums up our Saturday and by Sunday both our bodies, minds and stomachs were too tired to be overloaded on food or walks so we had a small lunch and then a leisurely sit down in the sunshine at Old Market Square.

The perfect ending to a perfect weekend!
