The C word: part II

A few weeks ago Olivia wrote about the C-word, that time it was coursework, this time it’s Christmas. The Christmas lights were turned on in Nottingham last night to coincide with the opening of the ‘Christmas Wonderland’ in Market Square. I was quite impressed, there were even fireworks and it got me into the festive mood ever so slightly!

Market Square lit up!

The Christmas Wonderland consists of lots of stalls selling a wide range of things, from cheese to scarves to jewellery to German sausages.

So much cheese!

So much cheese!

There is also a merry-go-round and various games to play, like hook the duck to win a cuddly toy (not sure what it is really called!), as well as a helter skelter!

Helter Skelter!

Helter Skelter!

But the main focus of the Christmas Wonderland in Market Square, the pièce de résistance, is the ice ring! Personally, I am looking forward to spending a considerable amount of time there, simply to watch everyone falling over!

It even has a giant Christmas tree in the middle of it!

A large number of people turned out to watch the lights be turned on and get in the mood for Christmas, albeit a little early in my books, but if you are out and about in town, the Christmas Wonderful is definitely worthy of a stroll around, or even a skate. You might even bump into this cool dude…
