Freedom tastes so sweet (until you get sunburn)

An hour boating on the lake was celebration enough for the freedom of second year.  It wasn’t without its challenges, rowing in a straight line was only the start of our troubles.

It isn't the most flattering pastime but at least both oars are in the water

1. I actually managed to fall off the rowing seat when the oar came out of its little holding thing… it would have been ok, except people definitely definitely saw (and laughed, how rude).

Seats aren’t nearly big enough!

2. Being almost 20 minutes late back a lovely guy that worked there offered to give them a tow so we went and made their day.  They maintain that their superior rowing skills were causing other rowers to complain as they had no chance of looking so good.

To the rescue!

3. We found a bag – any takers?

It's still there, covered in that much algae couldn't quite face getting it into the boat with our own bags

After the escapades on the lake we made it onto the downs where childlike frolicking ensued.  We had rounders (nb, 7 people isn’t enough to play rounders) ultimate frisbee (see previous) and then when a few more people arrived, a healthily competitive game of barefoot football.

Now guys, yeah the suns out and summer is finally here but make sure you’re looking after yourselves! Todays antics have earnt myself a fair amount of sunburn and right now I’m feeling pretty sick (in student terms, like I have a hangover but without any of the fun of actually drinking beforehand).  Make sure you’re wearing suncream and don’t forget to keep drinking lots and lots of water!
