I’m a 4th Year Medical Student

Hello,

How’s your holidays so far? I hope you guys are having fun and doing lots of wonderful activities with your family and friends.

I on the other hand, have now become a 4th Year Medical student this Monday. My first attachment is Obstetrics and Gynaecology (learning about pregnancy and conditions relating to female reproductive systems) at City Hospital.

The Hospital is quite far from my house. I have to get on the Medilink bus from the nearby hospital, QMC (Queen’s Medical Centre) early in the morning to reach City Hospital and the travel period ranges from 20-50 minutes. I know, it’s quite unpredictable.

On the positive side, I’ve passed my exams in my 3rd Year, yeay! I’ve worried about it quite a bit during the holidays and  I just decided not to be bothered about them so I can enjoy my trips meeting my friends as well as attending the Psychiatry Summer School in Durham. I can happily say that I’ve had a good holiday.

My new logbook for my first specialty

As for being a Student Blogger, it’s been one of the best experiences of my university life. I’m not sure when I should stop writing so until then, I’ll just write about my life as a medical student as I go through various specialties in my 4th Year.

By the way, I’m graduating this December with a 2:1 for my degree! Yes, one of the best things about doing Medicine at The University of Nottingham is that you’d get 2 degrees after completing the 5-Year course which is awesome. I’m just so happy to get 2:1. I know, I’ve been aiming a First Class but it’s just too hard. Oh well, I’m going to try my best for my 2nd degree – Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery.

Till then, take care.

Wafi 😉
