Stay Motivated
Be surrounded by dedicated, like-minded individuals in one of our exercise classes. Our engaging instructors and supportive members will help you work hard. Group fitness is a great way to help motivate yourself and others to dig deeper and push harder in workouts.
If you have no time to plan a workout or find yourself too tired to think what to do at the gym. At our group exercises classes you don’t need to think about what to do, just turn up and take part guided by our knowledgeable instructors. We also have classes that are only half an hour to fit into busy schedules.
2. Have Structured Sessions
Our group fitness classes are a great way to work out without having to think or plan what to do. Each class is structured with a warm-up, a balanced workout and a cool-down. The warm-up is designed to help you properly raise your heart rate while loosening your joints and muscles before jumping into strenuous activity. Our instructor will coach you through each segment of the workout. The cool-down will help you safely lower your heart rate and stretch all the major muscles worked during class, reducing the risk of injury.
3. Have Variety
Body Pump, yoga, indoor cycling, HIIT, Ballet Fit–the list goes on. We have a variety of classes for you to add to your weekly workout regimen. It’s a great way to create muscle confusion, which keeps your body guessing and ramps up your metabolism. It also helps prevent boredom.
4. Work on your Form
Are you worried about trying a new movement in the gym, think you might embarrass or even hurt yourself? In a group exercise class, it’s the fitness instructor’s job to not only show proper form, but to also make sure that everyone is executing each exercise the right way. Not only is proper form important for your muscles to make the most out of every exercise, but it also helps eliminate potential injuries.
5. Accountability
Our facilities require members to sign up in advance for specific classes. This is a great way to keep yourself accountable for your workouts. If you’re signed up and it’s on your schedule, there’s a good chance you won’t skip it!
6. Make training Fun!
Our group fitness classes are fun, upbeat music, a great workout and a group of people motivating each other along the way, it’s an enjoyable way to exercise. You might find yourself trying something new and enjoying it!
If this has convinced you to try group exercise you can view our class timetable along with class descriptions here.
Our classes are very popular and booking in advance is highly recommended. We advise members to arrive 5 minutes before the class start time to secure their place as any available places at the start of the class will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis by the instructor.
All classes may be booked online, via telephone at 0115 74 87000 or at any of our sports centre receptions up to 3 days in advance.
