University of Nottingham Sport Headliner Opponents Confirmed
On Wednesday 27th February, our Ladies Lacrosse team will compete in the cup quarter final and set their sights on BUCS Big Wednesday. The fixture will be held at David Ross Sports Village on 27th February with the first draw at 5pm.
The Headliner opponents were decided yesterday, 20th February, after a knock-out last 16 fixture between University of Oxford and University of Manchester.
The ladies will play the University of Oxford after they confidently won on their home turf 22-0.
University of Oxford current sit 3rd in the Premier South League after playing 10 fixtures winning 7 and loosing 3. Technically the University of Nottingham have had a more successful season so far winning 9 out of 10 games in the Premier North League. However due to the different leagues the Universities can only meet in the cup, so it is all to play for as the teams meet for the first time in history.
University of Oxford have beaten last year’s cup run by making it this far, but will the #GreenandGold stop their cup winning streak?
Will they be able to perform away next week at David Ross Sports Village against our team of talented international players? #GreenandGold support can only help the ladies secure the victory and make it to the semi-finals.
Since joining the championship cup competition, Nottingham have made it past the quarters only once before, that was last year in 2017- 18. Support the #GreenandGold as they try to make history to fight for a place in the semi-final next Wednesday.
