Varsity Series 2018 Preview: American Football

Having just been awarded the University of Nottingham Sport ‘Team of the Year 2017/2018’ the UoN American Football team will be desperate to end what has perhaps been their most successful season to date, with a Varsity Series win against NTU. The 2018 Varsity Series American Football will be held at Lady Bay at 6:30pm on the 9th May.

When the two sides met in last year’s fixture it was NTU who came out on top with a 25-12 victory. In fact, NTU have won every single Varsity Series American Football fixture since its introduction to the series in 2010, thats 7 wins in the last 8 years, with UoN coming out on top in the 2016 series. However, this could very well be the year that NTU’s dominance comes to an end. UoN have recently just won the BUCS Midlands 1A league title, finishing 4 points clear of varsity rivals NTU. They followed this success with a 43-0 BUCS Trophy victory against UWE, which completed a league and cup double!
