Member Publication: M. Valjakka’s “Visual Arts, Representations and Interventions in Contemporary China”

Together with Wang Meiqin (Professor of Art History at California State University, Northridge), our network member Minna Valjakka (Adjunct Professor of Art History and Asian Studies at the University of Helsinki) has recently published the edited “Visual Arts, Representations and Interventions in Contemporary China. Urbanized interface” at Amsterdam University Press (August 2018). The multi-faceted contributions look into how unseen representations and urban interventions brought about by the transformations of the urban space changed the interrelation of visual culture/arts and the city in mainland China.
