Project Transform presents at the Senior Managers’ Conference
The Senior Managers’ Conference took place this month on Tuesday 16 June at the National College for Teaching and Leadership on Jubilee campus. Among guests invited to speak were colleagues from Project Transform, who were given a two hour slot as well as a lunchtime poster board presentation session.
On the agenda was a range of topics including process, solutions, implementation and organisation design. Attendees had a chance to see the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software in action and also got a first look at the student iHub designs. The poster board session was a particular success with plenty of engagement between attendees and our workstream specialists. Also on display were videos introducing colleagues from UNNC and UNMC, as well as the Project Transform Vision.
One of the main concerns raised was that staff receive an appropriate level of training and support in order to effectively fulfil their new roles and use the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software in a competent manner. This is something that forms a significant part of our implementation team’s plan and there will be ongoing post-implementation support for staff. Details of training sessions will be communicated as soon as they are finalised.
It also emerged that there was some uncertainty around the future roles of admin staff within the new organisation design. This is something that we are working to define. The Organisation Design team is currently collaborating with staff from across the University to identify detailed structures. These will be presented to the Programme Board on 21 July and the outcomes will be shared as soon as a decision is reached.
Overall the event was a huge success and it was a great opportunity for staff across the University to see the progress being made by Project Transform. We’ll leave you with a few words from Karen Cox, Deputy-Vice-Chancellor and project sponsor:
“Many thanks to all who contributed to the Project Transform update at the Senior Managers’ Conference on Tuesday. It was a pleasure to be involved and to see how the project has progressed; to witness the fantastic contributions being made across the team, and the engagement of colleagues at the conference during the presentation and poster viewing. Well done to all – it was a great success!”
