Love Where You Live: Wheel It Away

This week sees the launch of our latest Off Campus campaign: Love Where You Live.

We’re going to be out in Lenton every Wednesday for the next four weeks giving out handy advice about managing your waste and recycling. If you live on Harlaxton Drive, Harrington Drive, Rothesay Avenue or Bute Avenue, our friendly ambassador team will be knocking on your door along with Community Protection Officers to have a chat about using your bins and to share some hints about keeping on top of your waste.

In week one, we’re going to be talking to you about signing up for the Council’s Bin-formation text service. Forgetting to put your bin out and take it back in again can lead to rubbish building up, making your street look a mess. Nottingham City Council offers a free text reminder service to remind you about collection days.

Our student ambassadors will be doing on the spot sign ups on the streets mentioned above on 19th March, but any student living in Nottingham City is able to sign up to the service by just clicking on this link.

Did you know that you can be fined for leaving your bins out more than eight before or after collection day? Don’t put your bin out before 4pm the day before collection day, or leave it out later than 8am the day after. If you have any issues, you can call Nottingham City Council on 0115 915 2000.

Not sure when your bin collection day is? Check online!
