Coming Soon – NIBS2 The Science of Consumer Behaviour
Today the ESRC announced more than £10 million of new funding for innovative multidisciplinary research in the fields of economics and social science. We are delighted to be the recipient of £2 million to continue our ESRC Network for Integrated Behavioural Science (NIBS).
The aim of the Network has been refined to focus on advancing behavioural science relevant to the understanding of consumer behaviour; market response to that behaviour; and regulation of markets and formulation of public policy. Commencing from 1 October 2017 for 4 years, the NIBS research team has been reconfigured to reflect this new focus on consumers and consumer markets and we are excited to be welcoming two new members to the network – Amelia Fletcher, Professor of Competition Policy at the Centre for Competition Policy and Non-Executive Director at the Financial Conduct Authority, and Bruce Lyons, Professor of Economics at the University of East Anglia and Deputy Director of the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy (CCP).
With our partners at the Universities of East Anglia and Warwick, and linking with 7 international centres of excellence in behavioural science in the USA and Europe, our research will draw on economics, psychology and broader behavioural science to advance understanding of consumer behaviour and how companies structure environments for customers.
Research is still on-going for NIBS1 whose funding is due to cease on 30 September 2017.
