Apology from Hunan TV

Dear UNNC staff, students and alumni

The University of Nottingham is a world class research-led university with academic excellence. As a top 100 university, it has cultivated many excellent students for society.

On the TV drama called 路从今夜白之遇见青春 broadcast on Hunan TV on 1 Nov, the dialogue between two fictional characters has made negative impact on your university and your staff, students. The alumni are upset. On behalf of the TV crew, we would like to express our sincerest apologies.

Hereby we need to make the statement as following: that dialogue  is only the early bedding for the development of the story line, and we are not intend to disrespect The University of Nottingham. In the later story, the main characters will achieve excellent results in their academic record, in the meantinm they will also actively plunge in the public services, and start up their own businesses, and shape the positive, optimistic image for the modern university students.

While filming on your campus, we were very impressed by the beautiful campus and academic atmosphere. We also got great support from your staff and students, which we truly appreciate. TV dramas are created artistically and scripts are mostly unreal. We usually try to increase popularity of shows within the beautiful physical and humanity environment.

We deeply apologise for the misleading dialogue from the characters. We will delete the misleading dialogue, the University’s name and logo as soon as possible in order to not causing other misunderstanding. From now on we will be more careful when creating TV dramas and will try to create more excellent works. Please give us an opportunity to correct. We would like to ensure that the plot will be satisfying very soon.

Lastly we apologise again to your staff, students and alumni. Meanwhile we would like to thank all the support you have given to us.
