TEDx event is huge success

Sir Peter Mansfield was the star of the biggest TEDx event ever staged at The University of Nottingham. Students queued up for autographs or to be photographed alongside the Nobel Prize winner.

Sir Peter was among 12 invited speakers at the sell-out event, staged at Jubilee Campus. The University of Nottingham physicist was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 2003 for his part in the invention of the MRI scanner. Other speakers and performers, from a host of different fields, included an award winning film-maker, a local chef, a dreaming poet and a pop-up problem solver. Each had just 12 minutes to speak about their chosen subject.

The event was a huge success – the pictures, taken by Andrew Hallsworth, tell their own story.
