Operation gorilla – Central TV tonight

Last month vet school surgeon Dr Sandra Corr travelled to Africa to try and save the arm of a young gorilla who suffered gunshot wounds to his wrist after being caught in cross fire when his mother was killed by poachers. Sandra was part of a team led by Twycross Zoo. They were accompanied by a film crew from ITV News Central. Tune in between 6-6.30pm on ITV1 over the next three nights to find out how they got on. Tonight in the first of three films reporter Victoria Davies looks at the illegal bushmeat trade and the work of Ape Action Africa where Shufai is being cared for. Pictures by Sandra Corr.
