Summer Graduation 2014 – The Second Week
After two wonderful weeks, Summer Graduation is over for another year. The sun continued to shine and the Alumni Relations team enjoyed meeting many of our graduates, finding out about their next steps and letting them know how they can continue to be engaged and a part of the Nottingham community.
In week 2 we met graduates from the following subjects:
English, Humanities, Art History, Philosophy and Theology
Economics and Computer Science
Chemistry and Pharmacy
Education, Politics and International Relations
Contemporary Chinese Studies, Law, Sociology and Social Policy
Business
Geography
School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies
More than 7,000 students graduated over the fortnight, 6,400 attended the ceremonies, and we spoke to around 1,500 of them! As well as meeting and speaking with all these graduates, we also continued to give away our Alumni tote bag which proved a great success and got lots of lovely shots for our Facebook page.
It’s fair to say our graduates are heading off to do some really exciting things, from graduate jobs at top investment banks, to taking time out to travel to some wonderful places.
Friends and family also travelled from far and wide to share in their loved ones’ successes, including one graduate whose former UoN classmates travelled from Africa to celebrate with him.
Whatever you’re heading off to do, make sure you keep in touch. You’re now part of an alumni network of more than 230,000 in 150 countries, so wherever you end up you won’t be far from a friendly Nottingham face. You can keep in touch and find more graduation photos on our Facebook page. You can also update your details online and keep up-to-date across our social media including Twitter and LinkedIn
